Introduce the landfill project with an edible landfill to get some visual representations of the vast amounts of trash that goes into landfills every year that could potentially be recycled or reused. This lesson should end with a trip to an actual landfill and be a prerequisite to a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle unit.
